The December Stock Market Rally In The Philippines

History reveals that every December the trend in the sock market is in upward motion. This means that lots of investors put their money in the market.  They choose certain stocks especially the blue chips that could survive the daily volatility (ups and downs in stock prices) in the market. Most of the days during this month confirmed a bullish outlook that will prompt any investor to invest more to a stock that promotes growth to one’s portfolio.

Presently here in the Philippines starting last week of November until now, the mining sector is leading the rally in the Philippine Stock Market Index. Imagine one stock alone in this sector is trading almost a billion pesos daily in a recent 4-day trading period.  Analysts commented that this is already an overbought stock. If you had bought this stock last December 1 and sold it at its current price, today you have earned at least 17% of your total investment. That's more than enough on the interest earned from a time deposit. This happens in just 6 consecutive trading days. What’s more you could expect. Last January this year this particular issue just costs cents per share. At its current price level this is already more that five times of your capital. A million pesos invested with this company could easily become more than five million pesos, making the investor a multi millionaire in just eleven months.  That‘s just the cream if you have the best knowledge in this field of business.

As an ordinary investor, you can make a killing in this field if your financial advisor shares you some nuggets of insider tips. Maybe some financial experts just get mad on me if they caught me sharing this information in my blog. Truly this is purely  an example of insider information in the stock exchange.

Philippines: An Emerging Market In Asia

Recently, the battle between the Bull and Bear in the international market is in the state of rollercoaster making the bear already outweigthing its enemy. But for the sake of some enlightenment in the Philippine market status, please read on to the excerpted news below from CNBC posted a yahoo news:

Invest in Philippines, the 'Dark Horse' of Asia: Expert
On Friday 18 November 2011, 8:26 SGT

As far as emerging markets go, the Philippines is seldom the choice investment destination, but one analyst says the Southeast Asian nation could well become the "dark horse" of the region, thanks to its favorable demographics and sound economic fundamentals.

The Philippine's "very robust and young population" presents a ready pool of talent, says Mark Matthews, Head of Research Asia at Bank Julius Baer. He expects the country's population of 93 million, around half of whom are below 20 years old, to more than double to 190 million by 2040.

With fertility rates declining in the West and in Asian countries like Japan, Korea and China, the Philippines will increasingly become an important source of immigrant labor, he added.

"And the interesting thing is 80 percent of them speak English," Matthews said.

"Most people who speak English in third world countries, they don't want to go overseas to work in sort of manual labor. But the Filipinos have no problem doing it...and they are making three times as much as they are making back at home, and they are sending it back home."

The Philippines is already one of the world's biggest recipients of remittances - the fourth biggest in 2010 according to the World Bank - which account for a tenth of the country's gross national product. According to the country's central bank, monthly remittances hit a record high of $1.7 billion in September with total remittances for the year expected at $20 billion.

The country remains in an enviable position fiscal-wise. Last year, for the first time in history, the Philippines' gross international reserves eclipsed its external debt level, making it a "creditor" nation, according to a report by Bank Julius Baer. The country is expected to end the year with a record $76 billion in foreign reserves, which is part of the reason why ratings agency Fitch upgraded the country's credit rating to BB+ from BB in June, just one notch below investment grade and on par with Indonesia.

And with a debt-to-GDP ratio among the lowest in Asia at under 50 percent, the Philippines is one of the most under-geared countries in the world, which makes it a less risky bet for investors. "That means it will no longer be 'another domino' in times of crisis," the Bank Julius Baer noted.

Despite being one of the best performing stock markets in Asia this year, with gains of over 3 percent, compared to double-digit percentage losses in China, Japan and Singapore," Bank Julius Baer says the market is still attractive on a valuation basis.
"The market is not expensive on 14.5x 2011 and 12.5x 2012 P/E, versus an average over the past 15 years of 12.5x," the bank noted.

The bank is not alone in its bullish view of the Philippines. A recent survey by Bank of America-Merrill Lynch showed fund managers increasing their overweight position in the country, making it the third most preferred market, trailing China and Indonesia.

The Latest Crazy Ups and Downs in the Stock Market

This month of October is a very shaky moments for investors as the European market is still in the process of alleviating their financial stability. For one time the Dow Jones Industrial Index is up then down again which is said to be following an erratic roller coaster movements. These scenario is the basis why most of the time the Philippine stock market is following the tracks of the US and EU markets. Staying on the sidelines, the best stocks to buy now are those in line with food. Likewise it is also good to return to gold stocks now up to December since it is starting to indicate an upward motion thereby allowing us to profit from these latest trend..

Detailed Online Stock Trading Steps

Are you interested in how to participate in the stock market in the Philippines but don’t know how to start? Do you have a hard time contacting brokers? Well, you could always do stock trading and investing online! Let me give you some baby steps to the local Stock Market i.e., the Philippine Stocks Exchange.

How to Start In Online Stock Trading:

1. Open an online account thru CITISEC or BPI Trade. In my
case, I have BPI Trade (www.bpitrade.com) but it’s good
to have both. Simply fill-up the online registration form
(BPI Trade) and PRINT it after. Please double check
your information that they are correct before printing.
2. The instructions are stated in their site but for your convenience, you have to
photocopy 2 Valid IDs (front and back). Example: GSIS, SSS, Passport, Voter’s ID,
Driver’s License, Company ID, PRC ID, etc.
3. You must have an existing BPI Account whether ATM/Savings. If you don’t have
yet, open one at your nearest BPI bank in your area.
4. Submit the photocopied IDs and the printed BPI TRADE registration form to the
BPI branch where you opened your ATM/Savings account and tell the Customer
Rep that you want to submit the requirements for BPI TRADE (online stock).
5. You will have to wait for about 5 to 7 business days for your BPI Trade account
processing. They will also send you an email on the progress of your account
processing within the duration. So, please check you email regularly.

Voila! That’s how you get started in online stock trading thru BPI Trade.

Now, you have the account set-up already, what to do next?

1. Once you have the username and password initially given to you by BPI Trade,
you will be given a simple instruction to change your password but not your
username. So please do remember the username and password when you
   registered to avoid such mess.

2. First time to view the BPI Trade page?

3. Let me elaborate the tabs:

     * Market Info- it displays the real-time market condition and that you could
        also refer it to PSE.

     * Stock Info- it is where you check the current real-time information of the stock
of your choice. Just fill-in the stock symbol in the tab. It will display the
current price and all necessary information.

     * Quote Page- it displays your ten favorite stocks with their real-time
        information.

     * Time & Sales- it displays the real time buying and selling transactions
        of your stock choice.

     * Most Active- it displays the most active stocks in the Philippine Stock Exchange.

     * Top Gain/Lose- it displays the top gainer/loser stocks real-time.

4. At the side tab:

    * Stocks (under trading)- this is where you buy and sell a particular stock of
your choice. Just fill in the   stock symbol, the number of shares you
want to buy or sell (if you have bought some shares already) and of
course the price you are willing to buy or sell.

Note: You have to make sure to put funds to your BPI trade account before you could make any transaction.

    * You could deposit your money for your BPI Trade account thru
over-the-counter to any BPI Branch or you may do an online
transfer from your online BPI ATM/Savings account direct to
your BPI Trade account for convenience.
    * In case you sold your stocks, proceeds/sales will be credited to your
BPI Trade account but you have to transfer it to your BPI
ATM/Savings account thru online transfer only so you could
withdraw it. You can’t withdraw the funds in your BPI Trade account.
       It has to be transferred.

Hope this helps!!! Good Luck to your online stock trading experience!

Gold’s Recent Temporary Price Depreciation

With the recent financial turmoil in the western world (esp. in US & Europe), central banks on major economies are defaulting to stock precious metals especially gold. During the first week of September this year, different European governments are struggling to solve internal as well as external debt matters. Financial instability of some Eurozone member-nations could hardly make ends meet to pay interest on their credits. Together with the United States their debt-related problems accordingly was under a national threatening security condition.

During this said week major index in the Eurozone is in red status, meaning the stock market is down. Gold price is also down because lots of European banks sold their gold reserves in order to liquidate cash making a temporary decrease of gold’s price. Better yet on the following week BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) nations offered to assist for the resolution of the said dilemma.

As to this writing gold is advancing to more than US$1,800.00 which may extend up to the third week of September and is foreseen to be bullish once again up to US$1,900.00 per ounce. This is because gold is still at higher demand.

My 225TH Day of Experience in The Stock Market

From the day I started my first trading in the stock market up until now, I have noticed that I have learned many things in this field. From observing and researching the best services of a stock broker to making a move in buying and selling a hot stock that could possibly make a huge profit.

I observed that the Philippine Stock Exchange Index is always affected when the US and European stock market is in the selling mode or the market is down. Several occasions I have determined this scenario. When DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Index) is the US market is in negative territory, expect that this will have a boomerang effect to the Philippine Stock Exchange on the following day of trading. So, the sell-off of almost all issues will happen. Investors and traders alike were taking cash from their securities.

I also found out that there were online brokerage in the Philippines that when you sell your stock investment, it will take three days before the proceeds is credited trading account while others could liquidate it easily at the instant you sold your stocks. Some online broker website is unavailable for trading especially when there is huge volume of transaction in the Philippine Stock Exchange. So this created anger with the investor who cannot pursue the daily trading transaction resulting to missed opportunities during the period of websites unavailability. The best thing is to choose the best brokerage who could offer instant services to their clients.

The Secret Of Earning Big In Trading Penny Stocks

Have you ever wondered upon joining the stock market on how to really become a big winner on your trades?  In the blog I want to share you some reasons on how penny stocks will make you a multimillionaire. I stumble upon the fact that investing through small caps company rather than blue-chips is more profitable.

When I joined the stock market most of the advice recommended by my financial advisor is to buy shares on stocks of blue-chip companies.  Why? Because these companies have already established a profitable business in the economy and their stocks are overpriced. I recognized that my advisor discouraged me in doing moves to join penny stocks because the companies that offering them were low-cap companies and are just starting their business. Besides that, the volatility is enormous. But now I’m so proud of the unbelievable potential that penny stocks could offer to an average investor like me which doesn’t have lots of money to invest.

I wonder why insiders refuse to discuss penny stocks.  The bare fact unraveled by my awareness that they are hiding how easily to make filthy rich profits here.  It’s the haven of the super fat cats.  Nothing compares penny stocks.  They are incredible.  You could literally be set for life by making a quick decision and a telephone call to your broker.

Well, it’s easy to make a lot of money quickly.  Unless we are extremely lucky that’s going to happen.  The power of how money multiplies upon investing on one really good stock, take the profits from that investment and put it into another one, then another one, and so on.  Economists call this the power of compounding.

The problem is you have to choose and find which of the penny stocks that are very hot and are waiting to make a major move upward.

You don’t buy the vast majority of penny stocks as “long term investments”.  They are not.  You buy them to make enormous short-term profits beginning with a very small investment. And you do this by capturing the short-term almost predictable profit explosions.  They key is getting on the right stocks to start off with.

Remember that you can start slow and see how much money you can make.  Try to test it on paper first before you execute it on real trades.  Today’s economy is fundamentally sound and the opportunity for small companies to grow has never been brighter.  Let the mighty newsman scream about the daily changes in the DOW. We couldn’t care less because penny stocks are not affected by the same crazy forces that affect the bigger stocks.

Gold: A Precious Metal That Could Turn Any Investor A Multimillionaire

Rumors are everywhere that gold prices will soar as high as US$2,000.00 per ounce in the coming months. Recently it reaches US$1,650.00/oz. Why this is so? As an investor, how can we take advantage of this speculative news?

If you are an active trader and updated regarding financial news that currently swept the Western countries especially issues on debt ceiling concerns, you will take notice that behind their financial turmoil a reversal and positive outlook is taking place in the commodity market. Gold, silver and oil are becoming more valuable to investors than any other commodity. There’s a fear that if problem in the US will continue next year, possibly a war will happen. I found out that while credit concerns are being negotiated in the US and other European countries, investors from these places are fleeing their investment overseas especially in Asia and Australia. Last month the Philippine peso becomes stronger and reaches at the level of 42 pesos per US dollar. This is because more investments are entering in our country. Huge corporations from other countries are now having big business deals on our mining industry. One of these is the Gold Fields Group of South Africa which is the fourth largest producer of gold in the world. Even our mining companies that are several years had ceased their operations have been eyed by foreign investors by providing investment capital on their way ahead to initiate and operate their mining activities.

Gold is now being sighted as the most valuable commodity on earth in this century better than paper money. Some financial experts agree that this will possibly become the real money in this century not the paper money anymore.

My observation with this issue, been noticing the daily influx of investment money entering in the Philippine Stocks Exchange especially in the industry of mining. Companies dealing with mining mineral resources in the Philippines are now being heavily traded by millions of pesos daily. This active trading scenario will last for six months according the valid sources.

By taking the ride of this bullish market activity in our local stock market, chances are you will get rich easily and become a millionaire few years from now. Imagine if you have 60,000.00 Philippine-peso invested today to a gold-mining company, it would possibly become 5 million pesos at the span of five years or less. Don’t take for granted this blog because many local and foreign investors are now positioning and allying their funds to the gold craze. Others even applied for a loan in their bank to invest in this once in a lifetime gold-market high. Imagine you could retire early and live the happy life of your dreams without lifting your finger especially if you had more funds to invest right now.

Procrastination is dangerous to your wealth. Act now before stock prices will reach to the ceiling.

Ten Principles of Investing

Here are the Ten Principles of Investing I've got from freeinvestmentreport.com which I found very useful to new investors.

1. Start investing now. You could be getting better returns on your money today to prepare
yourself financially for your future.

2. Make a financial plan. You must know what your goals are to be a successful investor.

3. Do not follow the crowd. When investing, do what the wealthy do and look for opportunities to
get in before the masses.

4. Don’t overpay for stocks simply because the companies behind them are large and well known.
Too many large companies are overvalued, and their prices will eventually fall back to earth.

5. Have patience when investing. Wait for the right time to enter and exit your trades.

6. Research, research, research. And if you can’t do your own research, seek advice from
experienced professionals who specialize in the markets.

7. Remember that all big companies were once small companies. Look for high-potential
opportunities in the micro cap and small cap sectors.

8. Be cautious when investing borrowed money. Your investments can fluctuate in value, whereas
the money you borrow must be paid back in full.

9. Don’t put all your money in one place. To protect yourself, make certain your portfolio is
diversified across a number of unrelated financial instruments.

10.If necessary, close out losing investments to cut your losses. Stocks do not always bounce
back.

FINANCIAL ADVISOR – A Must For Newbie Investors

How important are financial advisors to new investors? Can anybody start investing directly even without the aid of professional stock traders?

Financial advisors or experts especially in the field of stock market were of great advantage in investing. They not only provide best stock picks to invest in but rather warn investors when there’s bad news of a particular company. That way there’s good chances to exit early by selling outstanding securities before an even lower price will overtake one’s capital investment. Thereby, allowing us to control the safety of an investment portfolio.

Seeking a good financial advisor could be availed by joining an investment club or group because some of them had organized it. By searching the net, several investment experts offer personal advice (even one-on-one tutorial) about stock market investment but with pay. Another place to get superb advises if from Citisec Online. Personally, I’ve got it freely by joining in investment forums.

It Only Takes Two-Peso Daily To Become A Millionaire

To become a millionaire one must follow a consistent plan backed by constant action. Ordinary people realized that it’s very hard to acquire even a million peso during their lifetime. In this post, I’m going to show how simply a two-peso saved daily (or 2 dollar if your not from the Philippines) could be turned into a million.
Take a look at the figure below.

Annual Savings : P730.00
Starting Age of saving : 14 years old
Yearly Interest : 10%

15 years later (29 yrs old) :P 26,243.30
30 years later (44 yrs old) :P 132,818.71
51 years later (65 yrs old) :P 1,029,613.45

Two peso daily savings will reach 730 a year. You need to open up a time deposit account in a bank. The best place to do it is at your local bank because they accept minimal amount requirement upon opening an account with them.

It’s just like saving like a kid by putting the said amount in a piggy bank daily and after a year it should be transferred to a time deposit account so that it will earn 10% yearly and compounded annually. Time is the most precious asset when doing this kind of savings. Its better when you start young. Maybe you plan to make it a five-peso daily savings so that you will be rewarded more with the savings later on when you retire.

Mutual Funds Investment

Mutual Funds Investment is considered to be as Level I of investment type. Joining the Stock Market is a Level II. Planning a mutual fund investment is also a good alternative way of investing your savings. Better returns than banks’ time deposit offers. This way you have no hassles of doing the trade personally unlike in the stock market investing which burden is all done by the investor-- yourself.
Mutual funds in managed by a professional financial advisor called the Fund Manager. Its duty is to buy shares stocks for you in the stock market by using your invested money in the fund. The fund manager pooled together the total funds of all the clients he/she handles in order to have huge investment portfolio. It is advisable for those newbies investors to stick to mutual funds rather than directly investing in the stock market.

Some Profitable Mutual Funds Companies in the Philippines are:
1.     IMG – International Marketing Group
2.     Sunlife  Financial
3.     Cocolife Asset Management
As I have known, it is better to join IMG. Accordingly they cater to major financial institutions here in the Philippines including Cocolife. But this is a multi-national company with branches in other parts of the world.
Sunlife Financial, a Canadian conglomerate is also an international company which had diversified financial services such as insurance plan, educational plan, mutual fund investment, forex, and others.
I assure you that these two competent companies is a must in Mutual Fund in the Philippines. Their branch offices are located in various key cities in the country in order to serve the provincial areas.

How To Get Something Back From The Products and Services That We Pay For?

Initao Sunset @ Midway Beach Initao Philippines

The cost of daily living is never ending. One has to spend or pay something in order to live. There’s no such thing as free. There must be an exchange in everything we need. All of these are related to the stock market investment.

The payments’ of the never-ending consumption that comes out from our pocket is better collected by big companies. Sometimes we come to realize if how can we take back some of our spending from those big companies.

Buying some shares from Manila electric Company, Energy Development Corporation, East Asia Power Resources Corporation, Aboitiz Power and Manila Water Company will save us from the increasing electric and water bills we pay monthly. The diesel and gasoline for our vehicle be better coped up if we have invested some of our savings to Petron Corporation, Philippine National Oil Corp., Oriental Petroleum & Minerals Corporation, and trading in oil commodity.

Food factories like San Miguel, Pancake House, Universal Robina, Jollibee Foods, Liberty Flour Mills, Pepsi-Cola, RFM and Swift Foods are some Philippine companies who produce goods for our daily consumption and are offering shares of stocks to the public.

In the areas of transportation and telecommunications sector, think of it in relation to buying stocks shares at Aboitiz Transport Corporation, PAL Holdings, Cebu Air, Asian Terminals, International Container Terminal, Digital Telecoms, Globe Telecoms, PLDT, and Liberty Telecoms Holdings.

How Our Lifestyle Affects The Way We Plan For Our Investment Budget

Everyday we are struggling in our work to earn more. Doing the daily routine jobs makes us feel dissatisfied with the way we are living.

According to the recent study conducted by BMI that most Filipinos usually spends more of their income without spending limit where no budget is allocated for savings and investments. This instances especially happens to families who have a family-member working overseas.

According to Randell Tiongson in his article Why Our Neighbors are Richer than Us, published by Philippine Daily Inquirer, that,
"Neda reports place the savings rate in the Philippines at between 12 and 16 percent. Following the 70-30 rule on spending and savings, there’s not much promise for our nation. It is unfortunate that many Filipinos have embraced a First World consumerism lifestyle but have a Third World income. We simply do not save enough.
Does this mean we are hopeless? Definitely not. All we need to work on is our savings rate and we can best do so with financial education. We must embrace principles of proper budgeting, controlled spending, financial planning and we can start improving our surplus that will guarantee a better future for all of us."

The way we manage our monthly earnings totally depends on how we control our daily buying habits. Unnecessary spending on things that are not important must be cut off. Simple habits like smoking, drinking alcohols and soft drinks and even eating junkfoods will greatly enhance ones investment budget if these habits will be lessened or totally avoided at all cost. Another Filipino common vice which must be cut-off is the extra spending on cellphone loads. The danger of all this vices will not only eat up our monthly earnings but in the long run will also imperil our own lives.

We should indulge ourselves into integrated thinking in order to maximize our monthly saving power. Thinking deeply into the matters that affect our financial well being is vital. The essence of doing these creative thinking will definitely empower us to expand our wealth.

Take a closer look at this scenario. When we started saving at the age of fifteen years young just saving one peso (P1.00) daily it will become more than a million when we retire at age sixty. Yes, annually it will accumulate to P365.00 and keeping this amount yearly in a time deposit account with an interest of 10% yearly will eventually reach into more than a million if conscientiously undertaken through the years until the retirement age. The power of cost-averaging system is at your disposal. It only takes one-peso daily to become a millionaire. Think about some of your useless spend outs instead use it as a saving vehicle in order to augment your future wealth and experience the lifestyle of living like a millionaire.
